Summit4CAD's
Founder, Jon Patrick Hyde is a seasoned
public speaker. He is available for
lectures regarding CAD and the specifics of
his case (lifestyle choices, diet, exercise
and fitness regimens) which were all vital
elements in his survival and complete
recovery from the dreaded
Widowmaker Heart Attack.
In addition to
speaking engagements Summit4CAD will
participate in public events to promote
The Cycling
Life - the set of
lifestyle guidelines developed by Jon that
helped save his life and was the driving
force behind his recovery.
The
main goal of any event or public engagement
undertaken by Summit4CAD is to provide a
meaningful experience for the participants
in helping them better understand the risks,
signs, symptoms, treatment, and recovery for
CAD.
Cyclists of all skill levels are welcome to
join Jon on any of his training rides.
There will be public dates for these rides
(TBD), please
contact our office here if
you'd like to inquire about scheduling a
one-on-one training ride or a larger
training group.
Lastly, participation by way of sharing
the message of Summit4CAD and helping us
make our
Vision
a reality is always welcome and encouraged. |

OCTOBER
2017 - The one year
anniversary of Summit4CAD founder Jon
Patrick Hyde's heart attack. In
October 2016 Jon underwent emergency
heart surgery to save his life - he
experienced a "Widowmaker"
heart attack - which has a 100% mortality
rate if untreated. With treatment the
mortality rate is still 90%; thus the name
Widowmaker.
To celebrate his
survival and complete recovery Jon will
tackle the most difficult paved climbing
course and second overall most difficult
climb course in the United States.*
More details to come as the day
of this ride draws near. Check back
here for details and updates!
*Mt.
Haleakala is a 36 mile paved course which
leaves sea level and climbs to 10,023ft.
The most difficult climb course in the USA (and
considered by many cyclists to be the most
difficult in the world) is one island
over on the "Big Island" - Hawaii at Mauna
Kea - this 13,802ft - 41.7 mile course
includes several kilometers of unpaved,
gravel/dirt roads to reach the summit. |
